Coconut husk is the primary raw material for our coir products, making them 100% organic and natural.

Our substrates are produced using high-quality cocopeat and coco chips sourced directly from our own fiber mills, ensuring consistency and a dust-free product. The raw materials are carefully sieved to remove fine particles and enhance air porosity, promoting healthier root development and optimal plant growth.

Production Principles

At SAI, we are committed to delivering high-quality coir products, and this begins with strict control over every step of our production process. Our factories follow SAI’s rigorous standards, with dedicated time and skilled labor invested at each stage to ensure consistent excellence.

Raw material:

The production process begins with soaking the coconut husk in water to soften it. We exclusively use mature husks, as young or immature husks are not suitable for our products. This careful selection ensures that every SAI product, except our crush material, starts with the highest quality raw material.

Extraction:

All materials used in SAI products are extracted directly from the husk, ensuring purity and reliability in every batch.

Double Sieving (Removal of Long Fibers and Dust):

The final stage involves double sieving, which removes long fibers and dust. This critical step guarantees that each product meets SAI’s precise quality and uniformity standards, resulting in superior coir substrates for optimal plant growth.

Production Process

At SAI SUBSTRATES, we manufacture cocopeat substrates using a neutral medium, without the use of chemicals, ensuring that our products are 100% natural, recyclable, and chemical-free.

All our products undergo a four-stage production process to guarantee quality and consistency:

Washing

Substrates requiring low electrical conductivity are thoroughly washed to meet precise standards.

Drying

Substrates are dried to achieve the exact moisture content required for compaction and optimal performance.

Texture Refinement

All blends – Natural , Mix, Pro, Premium and Supreme substrates are carefully sifted to remove oversized particles and ensure uniform texture.

Sorting

Materials are categorized based on moisture content and conductivity levels.

For substrate development, one or more of these sorted materials are blended to create a homogeneous mixture, which is then compacted and prepared for dispatch.

Quality Assurance

At SAI Group, we follow a multi-stage quality assurance process to ensure that every product meets the highest standards. Each of our production units is equipped with a dedicated laboratory to test sourced raw materials, in-process products, and finished products.

Our team of quality controllers applies consistent procedures across all production sites, conducting checks throughout the manufacturing process up to dispatch. To maintain production uniformity, each site performs regular laboratory tests during production. Additionally, samples of dispatched products are taken and monitored to ensure continuous product performance and quality evolution.
